What is Appestat?
Appestat is a biogenic amine that actually is extracted from green tea, cinnamon twig, and galangal that works by
stimulating the hunger adrenal receptors in the body. In other words, Appestat knows where the body's hunger adrenal
receptor is and leaves the body's other adrenal receptors alone. Ephedrine is also a biogenic amine but stimulates
all of the bodies adrenal receptors - it cannot distinguish between them. When you stimulate all of the body's
adrenal receptors it makes the user feel "ramped up" or very nervous, sometimes even jittery. That is why
ephedrine is being crucified in the media. Appestat is totally safe - it is easy to see why Right·Size® is
so effective, and why we are so excited by the effectiveness of the product. Another important point is that
Right·Size is "thermogenic" without ephedrine. In other words, it also helps the body to more effectively
metabolize fat. This makes the product effective in more than caloric limitation-it works on two fronts.
- For all their controversy, the ephedra alkaloids have had a deservedly long reign as weight loss
aids. And yet, that ongoing controversy has had nutritional formulators scrambling to try to seek
out replacements. To date, most of the proposed successors have shown clinical results that are
less than spectacular.
- At RightSize Health, we prefer for research to be an ongoing process, not crisis management. For
years, we've dedicated considerable effort into the development of new methods of safe, effective
and marketable weight management.
- Our most recent preliminary pilot studies have shown us that the ideal future direction lies
within the realm of a group of chemical compounds known as biogenic amines.
- Virtually every anti-obesity drug ever proven to be effective has a biogenic amine as its active
ingredient. They all share an ability to switch on the body's fat burning process, while switching
off appetite. The types of biogenic amines found in drugs, however, are far too powerful for
long-term safe use. They include amphetamines, ephedrine, phenylpropanolamine (PPA), phentermine
and the active ingredients in Meridia®, Redux®, Adipex® and Phen-Fen.
- Fortunately, there are natural biogenic amines found in special diet-friendly foods that are more
gentle in action, but still retain the desirable fat-burning and appetite quenching properties. Not
only do these food-form biogenic amines assist in weight loss; they also make you feel great!
- Dietary intake of biogenic amines gives a metabolic boost, triggering the conversion of stored fat
into pure energy. They also make you feel more alert, by increasing levels of acetylcholine and
other neurotransmitters, which to keep your brain and nervous system functioning smoothly.
- Biogenic amines are also called monoamines, and they have been proven to improve mood. This is
why a whole class of mood elevating drugs are called MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors), which
work by blocking the brain enzyme (monoamine oxidase) that would seek to destroy the "feel good"
biogenic amines.
Where can you find biogenic amines?
- It has also been suggested that feelings of well being and satisfaction of cravings attributed to
chocolate may be due to a number of bioactive agents, including the biogenic amines tyrosine,
phenylalanine and beta-phenethylamine (PEA). But, before you reach for that candy bar, keep in
mind that chocolate is usually accompanied by a high fat and sugar content.
- The good news is that the same biogenic amines are found in other much more healthful foods as well.
Good sources include the Thai culinary spice galangal (a member of the ginger family) and Chinese
cinnamon twig, the dried stem of the cinnamon tree.
- One of the richest sources of biogenic amines is also one of Nature's healthiest foods - green tea.
This ancient drink is unique in that it is perceived as both invigorating and profoundly relaxing.
This is largely due to the presence of biogenic amines. In two important recent studies, green tea
was shown to significantly increase the rate at which the body burns fat. In green tea, biogenic
amines work together with polyphenols and methylxanthines for a thermogenic boost unmatched by any
other natural product.
- Thanks to the use of our proprietary water extraction technologies, we can now offer the power of
biogenic amines to our clients.
- Our new Appestat" is a potent co-extraction of green tea, cinnamon twig and galangal. Our recent
pilot study showed it to be an impressive appetite suppressant. This is an important attribute not
shared by any other proposed "ephedra replacer". Our skilled formulators have devised a variety of
synergistic formulas, combining Appestat" with other natural fat burners, thermogenics and mood-enhancers.
